I closed my bedroom window, popped a shotgun mic in the middle of the room and recorded the ambiance while it was drizzling outside. Hope this helps in anyway.

Caught a heavy downpour while at home and figured i'd capture it for posterity. The recording features rumbling thunder, an ambulance in the distance and a piston airplane flying over. The storm gradually drops in intensity.

The recording starts with gentle rain and slow thunder rolling across the sky. The thunder is predominantly in the first half of the recording. The rain increases in intensity in the second half, peaking about three-quarters of the way through. Recorded on a sheltered, outdoor stairway, in a suburban location in south-eastern england, in august 2013; using a zoom h2n recorder set on mid-side stereo, at a 120 degree spread. The original recording was heavily edited, to remove traffic, trains, planes and parakeets(!). Some light, occasional, background traffic noise remains, however.

I placed a shotgun mic in the middle of my bedroom, facing away from the window while its drizzling outside. Hope this helps in anyway.

Chldren were playing in the neighbour when a low lightning activity thunderstorm came to pécel and lasted for 1-2 hours. It produced 10 mm of moderate rain and bright intracloud lightning. Recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone. The storm arrival had a little disaster movie impression for me.

A thunderstorm in munich, recorded 2020-07-01 in my backyard on second floor on a balcony. It rains, the strikes come closer, then they go away, the rain recedes. Some backyard noise, faint traffic and tram. One time you here me sighing (sorry). Some minimal clipping at thunder peaks, sorry again, but i think it's very usable anyway and contains a lot of material. My first recorded sound! it's actually just 6 secs long. I was on a vacation yesterday to a cottage resort, but it was a really rainy day. I decided to take out my $300 samsung to record a bit of the rain. I had the quality at 22khz, so the quality kinda sucks but it's still ok. I also have 2 more sounds (i couldn't record any more because my mic on the tablet broke and it only picks up static).

4th of june 2016 thunderstorm in pécel, hungary at 5pm recorded by sony icd-ux512 dictaphone. You can hear the rain slowly coming toward us. The storm was also involved with a funnel cloud and a downburst.

There are birds picking at seeds on a nearby rooftop, which can be heard before the rain. 2. The birds flutter away just before the rain. 3. The rain starts around the 10 minute mark. 4. 22 minutes stereo recording of a thunder-storm including 3 major strikes at 0:15, 15:00, and 21:00. Rain in the background. Digitally recorded as 48khz-24bit-wav (device: zoom h4). Normalized +5db, then down-sampled to 44khz/16bit. This is the ogg vorbis file (q: 60%). There is also a flac version (lossless 100mb).

Big lightning happening in my hometown the evening of may 24th 2020. Went outside with a tascam dr-05 handheld recorded to try and get some thunderclaps, but unfortunately the rain and lightning were more prevalent than the thunder. Here and there i comment to myself about a particularly big flash, hoping it results in a big boom, but there aren't as many booms as i was hoping to capture in the time i had the recorder switched on.

This is a recording of a storm from the balcony of the living room in the province of rieti in italy on wednesday 8 september 2021, where various noises such as lightning, thunder, heavy rain, a bit of wind and even an ambulance and a bulldozer working in distance. I left the recorder locked and unattended in the car whilst we went and did a bit of shopping. It was raining, breezy and the car was parked under a tree in a busy city centre car park next to a main road. You can hear cars passing at different speeds, the rain on the windscreen, doors opening and closing and muffled, distant voices. Zoom h1, internal mics, 50hz high pass at 6db/oct to reduce rumble.

After an august rain, there was enough water rushing downhill toward a golf course that it may be a bit hard to tell it's water. It might be softened up by reducing volume and used as a background. Some birds are audible. Coudburst, yes.
